HEAD COACH – NATIONAL SQUAD
Jon Harrison (ASCTA Silver License Coach)
Holding Master of Science (UWA), and Sports Physiotherapy (Curtin University) degrees, as well as other post graduate Science based qualifications, Jon has a keen eye for detail and a very strong understanding of science, physiology, injury management and performance. As a former National Age and Open medallist and WA State Team swimmer himself, Jon loves the sport of swimming and his passion for developing athletes not just as great swimmers but great people is felt within the club he leads. He is constantly looking at ways of programming and planning each session and each season to offer his swimmers a varied and effective program.
Jon is a great leader of the club, providing valuable mentorship, and engaging in regular discussion about all things coaching and swimming with our Westside coaching team. Jon has coached National champions in both pool and open water events, state record holders, and with his team of coaches has built WCCA into one of WA’s most successful swimming programs.
In 2024 Jon placed swimmers into Australian Junior Swim teams (Open Water and Pool) and the Australian Swimming NextGen pathway programs.
COACH – NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SQUAD AND JDS COACH
ASSISTANT COACH – NATIONAL SQUAD
Will Greenwood (ASCTA Silver License Coach)
Holding Masters of Teaching (Notre Dame) and Bachelor of Sport Science (UWA) degrees, Will has a strong foundation in performance coaching. He has established experience as a swimming teacher, junior squad coach and national age and state development coach.
Will has coached WA State Record holders and National Age Medallists in his time at Westside and is very well-loved, as much for his fun and positive energy as for his way of mentoring his swimmers to believe in themselves. He has placed swimmers onto National Junior Teams and consistently has his swimmers chosen for the WA Performance Pathway Programs.
Will is also the Head Coach for the very successful CCGS Swim Team.
COACH – STATE AGE SQUAD AND JDS COACH & ASSISTANT COACH – NATIONAL AND NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SQUADS
Donna Rowand (ASCTA Bronze License Coach)
Donna is currently undertaking her Silver License Coaching Accreditation and is the former Head Coach of Sale Swimming Club and Assistant Coach for the Gippsland Sports Academy program in Victoria. She had further experience in WA as the former National Age and Junior State Coach for St Hilda’s where placing swimmers on the WA State Team led to her role as an assistant coach on the WA State Short Course Team.
Donna has extensive coaching experience, a love for swimming and exceptional communication skills which the coaches and swimmers both love. She leads and mentors our group of dynamic and enthusiastic Junior Development Squad and Junior State Squad coaches at each session.
Donna also coaches with the MLC Swim team and MLC PE department swimming sessions.
COACHES – JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT SQUAD & JUNIOR STATE SQUAD
Dylan Burgess, (ASCTA SC Coaches)
We are extremely fortunate to have Dylan coaching both the JDS and the JSS programs. He is National level swimmer that is still competing at the National level and shares his experience and love of swimming with our juniors. He currently studying teaching and has excellent communication skills that combine with his passion for swimming to deliver fun and affective programming for his developing swimmers.
Dylan also actively assists with the CCGS Swim team both junior and seniors school programs.
